Ben Franklin was a craftsman, a carpenter, a farmer, a teacher, a writer, and an inventor.
But he is best known as the founder of the American craft industry, and a pioneer of the modern day consumer electronics industry.
As a young man, he built the first commercial home, a three-bedroom cabin in Virginia, and became one of the world’s first consumers of the electrical appliance.
It was the home that he lived in, in his later years, until he died in 1793.
His life story was one of a genius who made a huge impact on the development of our modern lives.
Benjamin Franklin lived, died, and lived on, and we will continue to share his story through our craft projects and the work of Ben Franklin’s students.
